The Sphere of My Inherent Radiance

The matter of Spiritual Transmission is a great matter.

For instance you said on occasions you saw me at some distance and then you said you weren't sure if I noticed you. The suggestion being that for transmission to occur I have to notice you.

All kinds of interaction may be associated with Transmission, and not just original Transmission, the whole the process of growth of an individual over time in my company. The process of Spiritual Transmission occurs in the realm of true reality.

You think about it in terms of your model of reality. If your model of reality is based on identification with the body and the limitations associated with what's usually called material existence, then you would have a view of Transmission — if you thought about it at all, or had a view at all — you would view it in a sense limited by that identification, that view.

The matter of Transmission occurs in Reality. It doesn't depend on your views, your limited understanding, your limited knowledge. This transmission transcends space-time, and operates in many remarkable ways that you can't account for then in the convention point of view, from any kind of conventional or limited point of view.

So for instance in those occasions when you saw me at a distance. If you walked into a room and there were a light shining in the ceiling, it would be shining in all directions. You would see the light at one point, depending on your position in the room, and say, "Oh it's shining on me", as if perhaps in some sense the light bulb noticed you.

But, in fact, the light bulb is radiating in all directions indifferently, in that sense. You are in a position to notice it.

Of course you had to come into the room to notice it. If you didn't come into the room, if you stood outside the room, in other words, if you stood apart from this Transmission, from My Company, through some barrier or other, of your own obstruction in mind and emotion and so on, then you wouldn't come in contact with Me, you wouldn't be able to receive this Transmission.

But if you find your way into My Company, if you live rightly in relationship to Me, once the link is established with Me, then the work is yours, you must give me your attention, you must do the sadhana [spiritual practice]. The link is established, the Transmission is then available to you at all times, if you will practice, if you will come into the room.

If you will enter in the Sphere of My Inherent Radiance, then you grow in My company constantly, and that growth doesn't depend on My constantly giving you My attention. Rather, you must give me your attention. So this in general is so.

Apart from that, the Spiritual Process is itself, once it becomes truly Spiritual, beyond the beginnings of an approach to that, the Spiritual process is a profound and very complicated matter, you might say.

In order to serve what must be served in an individual sometimes I must and do give them My attention. Sometimes I must and do notice them. Some interaction must take place that has necessity. That's another matter, that's a special aspect of this Transmission.

But I have served you fundamentally by instructing you and remaining available to you. Thereafter, the sadhana is yours. You must remember Me, you must remain in this contemplation, you must stay inside the room.

Don't stand outside. Do the sadhana. Remain in My sphere, the link being established. This is relatively simple to understand. You don't have to have a thorough or grand experiential knowledge or understanding of how such processes really operate.

From the point of view of the body, you are a speck in the midst of a vast infinity without circumference and without a center, except the center is wherever you are, somehow. So you're inside a vast something.

And yet from the point of view of the mind ultimate in which all of this is arising, all of conditional existence is a speck, a bindu, a point, almost a nothing, very easy to influence it, very easy to Bless it, to Shine on it completely.

And from the point of view beyond body or mind, from the point of view of the very Being, Consciousness Itself, inherently Divine, there is no thing at all. Only this absolute transparency that is the very Divine.

As a relative beginner in the great process in general, it's likely that your point of view is basically that of the body. And the perception that the body has, the notions associated with bodily awareness, notions of time and space and distance, others and things and so on. That determines the form of your sadhana, the stage of it, the stage of life, the stage of practice, the quality of your experience, and so on.

Even so, as a body-based personality, if you are egoically active, self-contracting, you define body existence or you allow bodily existence to define you separately, you are defined by the body, and via the self-contraction you are bodily aware separately, and separatively.

This is the common activity of ordinary people then, separate body or body-mind seeking through desiring for release, for happiness, for pleasure, and so on, for happiness ultimately. This is an unillumined view.

On the other hand, if it is not possible for there to be any kind of Divine Awareness without utter transcendence of the bodily point of view you would have no way out. So there is a way to grow from this body-based position, there is a way to grow beyond it.

It involves of course the process of the transcendence of the self-contraction; the avoidance of relationship, animated bodily, must be overcome.

So what is the principle of all that? Basically, it is the principle of faith and response to Revelation. And it develops a quality of bodily life that is different from the egoic one.

The egoic bodily life is separately defined, separative, through desiring, pursing various ends fruitlessly, seeking always. From the inspired point of view, the self-transcending point of view, the faithful point of view, the life of the body is turned into that of service, the bodily being becomes a servant of the Divine.

This is the cure then, so to speak, and it's the basis for the process wherein the apparent individual can move into advanced stages of life.

So through the exercise of devotion, by faith, the faith response, and intelligence, insight, all that, whatever particular form the sadhana develops in, the life of service, the bodily servant of the Divine, must be developed as a consistent, intentional practice.
